ICOM Appoints Base 1 As Its Representative in Chile

ROLLINSVILLE, COLORADO (USA)--ICOM, a leading global network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, has appointed Base 1, Santiago, to represent the network in Chile.

Base 1 is a 31-year-old integrated agency, with 24 employees serving both local and international clients such as Nissan and 3M.

Marcelo Cristi Gaete, CEO, said it is essential for Base 1 to have access and connections to the global marketplace in order to support the agency’s clients. ICOM has more than 70 member agencies in 50-plus countries. “Membership will allow for an exchange of information and early knowledge of trends in markets around the world,” he said. “We can expand our horizons that will also benefit our agency locally.”

The agency becomes the 11th member of ICOM’s Latin America region.

“It’s important for ICOM and our roster of international clients to have agency representation in all markets in today’s world,” said ICOM Executive Director Gary Burandt. “Base 1 shares the values, goals and philosophy of our membership and is a valuable addition to our network.”

ICOM is the most geographically balanced of international independent advertising and marketing communications networks. Founded in 1950 as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies, ICOM offers clients an alternative to the huge and increasingly similar agency groups. Today, the network has billings of US$2.4 billion and gross income exceeding US$390 million.
